*Compared with an equivalent 2 kW local heater, based on an 8-hour shift at 25p/kWh over 260 working days, with M-Heat costed at its full rating. A saving only exists where the mat lets you switch a heater off.
Why heating the building doesn't work
Warehouses and production halls are tall, draughty and full of doors that open all day. Warm air rises into the roof and escapes every time a dock door goes up, so space heating spends most of its energy on air nobody is standing in. The worker at a packing bench or a line station is still standing on cold concrete.
M-Heat turns that round. Far-infrared heat radiates from the surface underfoot and warms the person directly, which is what they actually feel. One mat draws 350 W, against 2 to 3 kW for a typical local fan or convector heater, so the saving comes from switching those heaters off at the workstations that have a mat.
It is still a proper anti-fatigue standing platform: a 3.5 cm raised tread-plate surface that takes the hardness out of concrete for workers on their feet all shift.
Warm the worker, not the warehouse
M‑Heat costs no more than 70p for an eight-hour shift at 25p/kWh, up to 82.5% less energy than a 2 kW space heater. Where it replaces one local heater, a single mat could save around £858 a year and repay its price in about 13 months.
Work out your saving
- Saving per mat, per year
- £858
- Pays for itself in
- ~13 months
- M‑Heat, at most
- 70p a shift · £182 a year
- 2 kW heater
- £4.00 a shift · £1,040 a year
M‑Heat is costed at its full 350 W rating for the whole shift. Its regulated surface cycles on and off, so real use should be lower. Payback is on the VAT-inclusive price of £929.95. The saving only exists where the mat lets you switch off or turn down local heating: if every heater stays on, M‑Heat adds up to £182 a year instead.
Where M-Heat earns its keep
Warehouses and loading bays
Pickers, packers and goods-in staff working beside open dock doors, where heating the air is money out of the door.
Production and assembly lines
Fixed workstations on cold concrete in large-volume buildings that are never going to feel warm.
Beside cold stores and chillers
Ambient packing and despatch stations next to cold stores, where cold air floods out every time a door opens.
Inspection and packing stations
Low-movement roles that get cold fastest, because the work keeps people standing in one place.
Run a whole line from one socket
Link up to five mats along a bench or line with one connector cable per link, so a run of five needs four cables. Fit a safety connector between each pair of mats for one continuous standing surface with no trip edge at the joins.
